What are Clans?
This should be a no brainer for most of you guys but, clans are not a new concept. Casual gamers play for fun, hardcore gamers play to win. While the groups feature lets players congregate around similar interests, the clans feature allows up to 100 competitive players from tight-knit units that strategize, run tournaments, compete against other clans in Modern Warfare 3, unlock items, and win prizes.

The clans overview page provides users with all of the tools they need to find and join a clan. Whether they have a particular clan that they’re looking for, want to see which clans their friends are in, or decide to create their own clan, they’re covered. They will also learn about a few of key features of clans, such as Clan Operations and Clan Level.

Here’s how clans work on Elite:

What are Clan Operations?

Clan operations are similar to lone wolf operations in that they score premium players for certain stats in certain game modes for specific amounts of time. Operations can range from “Most Team Deathmatch Kills” to “Most Captures in Domination,” generally last for three to four hours, and award real prizes and Elite badges.

The two key differences between clan operations and lone wolf operations are that clan operations score members of clans instead of independent players, and clan operations award Clan XP.

How do Clan Operations work?

To participate in a clan operation, you need to be a premium member of a clan and your clan’s leader must enlist your clan before the operation has started. If you are a free Elite member, you can still play along side your clan mates in MW3 during operations, but we only score the premium members of your clan.

Only your clan leader may enlist your clan into operations, so if you see an operation you really want to participate in, make sure you suggest the operation to your clan leader from that operation’s page.

Once your clan is enlisted in an operation and the operation has begun, you and your clan mates must try to get the highest total or highest average for whatever stat is being scored before the operation ends.

To keep clan operations fair, your clan’s score in clan operations will be a total (or average) of the top six highest scoring members of your clan. This way clans small, large, and in between will all be on an even playing field as far as scoring is concerned.

What can I win in Clan Operations?
Clan operations award clans that finish in the bronze tier or better. Bronze may change from op to op, but generally if your clan finishes in the upper half of an operation, it will be rewarded.

*Your clan showcase will display any earned clan operation badges, and your clan’s progress towards clan challenges.

These rewards include a badge that is displayed in your clan’s showcase and clan clan XP. If your clan wins a champion badge, the players that finished in the top six of your clan for that operation will receive real prizes.

Remember that only your clan receives a badge for performing well in operations. Your clan showcase is designed to let other users know how legit your clan is by promoting your accomplishments together.
What are clan challenges?

Clan Challenges represent both in-game and ELITE milestones that reward Clan XP as well as in-game emblems upon completion. Challenges range from passive milestones, such as the number of days the Clan has existed, to more active achievements, such as winning a certain number of matches with at least six Clan members on the team.

Most Challenges are multi-tiered, with higher tiers rewarding larger amounts of Clan XP. Complete the first tier of a Challenge to unlock the second, and so on up until the final tier unlocks. Completing the final tier of any Challenge rewards all members of the Clan with a new in-game title or emblem.

What is clan level?
Clan Level is a ranking based on how much Clan XP a clan has earned. Clan XP is earned by completing clan challenges, winning badges in clan operations, and adding Elite Founders to the clan roster.

The higher a clan’s level is, the more features and rewards it will have unlocked. Browse the clan level unlocks list below to find out all of the Elite exclusive rewards and features clans have access to online and in MW3 by leveling up.

What is clan XP and how can it be earned?

Clan XP are experience points that your clan earns by completing a variety of activities and allow your clan to level up and get cool rewards both on Elite and in Modern Warfare 3.

The primary ways your clan can earn clan XP are through completing clan challenges, finishing bronze or higher in clan operations, or welcoming Elite Founders into the fold. Clan challenges award anywhere from 250 to 5,000 XP, while clan operations award 250 XP for a bronze badge all the way up to 2,500 XP for a champion badge.

Elite Founders who decide to join your clan as their first clan will bring an additional 500 clan XP with them.

As your clan earns more and more clan XP, your clan level will rise. As your clan reaches higher levels, it will unlock exclusive features on Elite and in Modern Warfare 3. See the Elite Unlocks list below to find out what your clan can unlock.

Q: How can I level up my clan?
A: As of now the only way to level up your clan is by adding founding members of elite to your clan. As your clan levels up you will unlock custom titles, emblem packs, clan page backgrounds, double xp, colored clan tags, and even prestige tokens. The unlocks and levels required will be covered further in this FAQ.

Q: Okay, but what are the other ways?
A: Infinity Ward will be releasing “Clan operations” and “Clan Challenges” soon. Competing in these works similar to Enlistments. The two key differences between clan operations and lone wolf operations are that clan operations score members of clans instead of independent players, and clan operations award Clan XP. To keep clan operations fair, your clan’s score in clan operations will be a total (or average) of the top six highest scoring members of your clan. This way clans small, large, and in between will all be on an even playing field as far as scoring is concerned.

The amount of XP earned will depend on the medal you receive.
*The % represents the percent of the top score.

Bronze – 50% – 75%

Silver – 75% – 90

Gold – 90% – 100%

Champion – First Place on leaderboard

Clan operations award clans that finish in the bronze tier or better. Bronze may change from op to op, but generally if your clan finishes in the upper half of an operation, it will be rewarded.

A: 100

  1. Where can I find what the in-game challenges are for Clans?

  2. can you still level up ur clan when u do lone wolf ops cuz i just got done with one and got a gold medal but i havent got any xp yet or does it just take like a day to register? please help!

    • I do not believe so hence the tile ” Lone Wolf” you get badges not xp when you do those check you showcase on Elite.

    • There’s a lag with the registering of unlocks, showcase items, and XP, it seems. I believe I read on the site that typical turn-around is three to four days. I think I have a silver or bronze medal for a lone wolf op.. Should check it out!

Oh, and Lone Wolf ops seem to have no benefit to your clan beyond the stats you get. That may change.. Hope it does, too. 8)

  3. Naw It wont tho Yomar and should say that way I cant wait for clan ops and challenges then its a rap.

  4. Hey I have seen several emblems that are fucking cool, one of them looks like a moab and stuff and I look and the mw3 wiki and it only says that you can gt them through COD Elite, do you know which ones im talking about and how do you get’em ?

  5. Many thanks for composing “Call of Duty Elite Clan FAQ
NoF Geek And Gamer Pants Party”. I actuallymight undoubtedly
be returning for far more browsing and writing comments soon.
    Thanks a lot, Clyde
